Is there anyone on here who was alive back then?

If you were, do you remember what your feelings were when you found out about the attack?

Did anyone join the military the day it happened, because of it?

I was not even a twinkle in my fathers eye when this happened, he was born in 1950, but I would like to hear from not only veterans but citizens who were alive. Thank you in advance

I wasn't alive then, but, my father served in the 82nd Airbourne at that time. Two years before Pearl my father was playing cards with some of his buddy's and they were talking about the war in Europe, his friends were saying that we needed to watch out for Germany and my dad got real quiet then he said, "No, I don't think Germany will attack us, I think it will be Japan." All of this was told to me by my mother years later, but, I think that it is telling. By the way my father was a corporal at the time.
